Welcome to Cedar Crest Carpentry Co.

Fine carpentry, built to live in.

Custom decks, built-ins, finish work and renovations for homes across southern Vancouver Island. One crew, from the first measurement to the final walkthrough.

What we build

Work that covers the whole house

From the frame behind the drywall to the trim you run a hand along on the way past. If a job falls outside what we do well, we will say so and point you to someone who does it properly.

Decks and outdoor structures

Cedar and composite decks, pergolas, privacy screens and railings, built to current BC code and to still feel solid in twenty years.

Interior finish and trim

Baseboard, casing, crown, wainscoting and stair parts, cut tight enough that the joints stay closed through a wet winter.

Custom built-ins

Bookcases, benches, mudroom lockers and closet systems, measured to your walls rather than pulled off a shelf.

Framing and structural

Additions, walls, headers and subfloors. We work alongside your engineer and pull the permits the job calls for.

Renovations

Kitchens, bathrooms and basement suites, run with our own electrician and plumber so the schedule actually holds.

Doors and windows

Replacements and new openings, flashed and sealed so the wall behind them stays dry.

How it goes

How a project goes, start to finish

  1. You call or text

Tell us what you want built and roughly when. We answer the same day, evenings included.

  2. We come and measure

Free on-site visit, usually within a week. We take measurements and photos and talk through materials.

  3. Fixed written quote

Line by line, materials and labour separated, valid 30 days. The number does not move unless you change the scope in writing.

  4. Build and walkthrough

We give you a start and finish date, clean up daily, and you inspect the work before the final payment.
